The theme is Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber (I haven't played it yet, but I enjoyed the original DK: King of Swing)
The gents on the hill are S. Miyamoto, G. Yokoi, S. Tajiri, and M. Sakura... some of my favorite creatives at nintendo, and if you look closely you can see Geno & Mallow high-fiving off their heads *they're goners*
I realized too far into it that my composition was ripping myself off (w/ my Pokémon Diamond/Pearl piece), ah well, just shows how you can always go somewhere else with it.

Thanks! the sky kind of brought the work full circle... I began the painting with it, and ended with touching it up.
In regards to the Kong family, I've always been a little distrustful of them except for good ol' Donkey (this due to my childhood expectation that Diddy Kong Racing was a "Mario Kart Sequel"), but I came away liking Funky a lot more than I expected. Strange.
